I came from the town to the city
just a greenhorn with a big dream
but I wasn´t ready
for the road that was so gritty

so all my dreams got broken
and my eyes just didn´t see
all the marvels that were around me
neither the sun nor a tree

I´m glad I know now
that I have everything I need
and I say:

Thank you sun for the strength that you give me
thank you air for filling my lungs
thank you my friend that you forgive me
thank you god for the day that comes

thank you earth for all the harvest
thank you love for healing my heart
thank you night that you´re never starless
thank you god for being so smart

It took time to face my demons
although I felt something was wrong
there wasn´t any joy inside me
I couldn´t find it all day long

I was blaming all the others
I was jealous and I was mad
escaping through an empty bottle
and then crying in my own bed
